RUŽOMBEROK (September 2, 2011) - Rector of the Catholic University in Ružomberok, Prof. Tadeusz Zasępa inducted into office a new director of the University Library of the Catholic University, RNDr. Soňa Hlinková, PhD., on September 2, 2011. He wished her a lot of great performance results in the presence of employees. “There is no good university without a good library. I am wishing you to develop it together with great cooperation with your employees, teachers, with all of us,” Rector said.
The new director of the University Library was chosen based on the results of interviews conducted by the committee. “The applicant had sufficient professional skills to manage the Library,“ Rector said. He also added that the new director had gained her managerial skills and language knowledge abroad. There were three applicants for the position of the director, then, in the prolonged period there were another three. The then-director, Mgr. Iveta Zmeková left the position at her own request. Thereat, Rector of the University awarded her with the Bronze Medal of the Catholic University for her work as a director of the University Library within the period of 2008 – 2011, for its consolidation, for formation of conditions for digitalization of the bookstock and for permanent care for raising of the qualifications of the employees.
