Summer Courses of Hebrew and Biblical Greek Language at CU PDF Print E-mail

RUŽOMBEROK/BRATISLAVA (May 18, 2012) -The Summer School of Biblical Languages 2012 offers the possibility to register for two intensive monthly courses of biblical Hebrew and Greek. The courses will take place from 13 August to 21 September in Kosice. According to the organizers from the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University in Ruzomberok, Slovakia, the deadline for registration is 10 June. “Knowledge of biblical languages opens the door to serious study and knowledge of the Bible, history and culture of the Middle East, and helps to intensify the dialogue with other Christian churches and Jewish communities”, explains Robert Lapko, deputy rector of the Catholic University, adding that participation in the courses does not require previous knowledge of the languages.

After their completion, students will be granted a certificate attesting their knowledge of biblical languages at lower-intermediate level. Lecturers come from the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich and the Catholic University in Ruzomberok. “The study can also help students to deepen their knowledge of their own religion in the context of a lifelong education and formation”, concludes Robert Lapko.
