The Canon Law Symposium

kapitulaThe Theological Institute in Spisska Kapitula organizes 27-31 August 2018, the 19th Symposium of Canon Law. The Symposium is organized biannually since 1991 by the Slovak Society of Canon Law in association with Catholic University in Ružomberok and Bishops’ Conference of Slovakia. It is open for canonical judges, lawyers, church lawyers, and all interested in Canon Law. Main topics are marriage and family, spiritual accompaniment of spouses after marriage and the traditional themes of marriage and procedural canon law.

Improving Know-How of Non-Profit Catholic Organizations

How to design the strategic plan? What are the key components of fundraising? How do we identify our strengths and weaknesses and, understanding them, work for common goal? Finding answers to these and many other questions related to the efficient functioning of Catholic non-profit organizations was the content of the 9th Annual Catholic Leadership Certificate Program.

In Gubbio about European humanism

gubbio1Under the title "European humanism in the making", a meeting of the realization team of the European Summer School of Catholic Universities was held in Gubbio, Italy. It was organized by the Federation of Catholic Universities of Europe (FUCE). On 9-11 July 2018, twenty university teachers presented and discussed all the parts of the future program that were divided into five modules. The Catholic University in Ružomberok is also represented in the realization team in the person of doc. PhDr. ThDr. Stanislav Košč, PhD., Department of Social Work at the Faculty of Education. He collaborates on the fourth module, emphasizing the importance of Catholic universities in the creation of European social humanism.

CCP Partners: Faculty of Theology in Košice

ccpOn the 9th of June, under guidance from Sr. Agnieszka, Diploma Course Alumna (’17), the first group of students finished the e-Learning program, a cooperation between the Centre for Child Protection (CCP) and the Faculty of Theology in Košice, Slovakia. The ceremony began with the students sharing their experiences and projects for the future. All the students want to continue working in that field and are very engaged for the protection of minors. After lunch and Holy Mass there was a certificate ceremony, which were awarded by bishop Marek Forgač, one of the first supporters for the launch of the e-Learning program in Slovakia. Sr. Agnieszka writes, “With all the gratitude and joy we look forward to welcome new students in fall semester, for the Safeguarding Course. Thank You for the team of the CCP and the Faculty of Theology in Košice.”
