The Department of Pre-School and Elementary Pedagogy of Socially Disadvantaged Groups provides Bachelor program: Pre-School and Elementary Pedagogy of Socially Disadvantaged Groups.

This study program prepares teachers, teaching assistants for kindergartens, educators for school facilities/school clubs, leisure centres so that they can lead the educational process focused on extra-curricular activities for children of pre-school age and pupils of younger school age with an emphasis on the socially disadvantaged children in kindergarten and elementary school pupils. This study program is the only such program within all faculties and it is unique in the Slovak Republic. It is created in accordance with the philosophy of inclusive education.

The Department of Pre-School and Elementary Pedagogy of Socially Disadvantaged Groups focuses its scientific, research and publishing activities on solving scientific and national projects aimed on inclusive education of children and pupils from socially disadvantaged environment. Members of the Department and students engage in various international activities and cooperate with similar workplaces both in European Union countries and Ukraine.
