Abstract: In the exercise of his/her profession, a teacher not only communicates with pupils in the field of education, but also participates in their upbringing and the formation of attitudes. It is often difficult for a novice secondary school teacher to know how he or she will communicate with pupils in the event of problematic situations. It does not have to be only communication at break time. In their paper, the authors stress the necessity of a teacher education graduate's readiness to communicate with pupils. The role-playing method seems to be a very effective method for student teachers. The text of the paper gives a concrete example for teaching educational and communication skills to future teachers with the applied role-playing method. The authors focus on the problem of possible indiscipline of students during the teaching of a selected subject at a secondary vocational school, at the same time offering variants of solving the problem situation.
