Pope Francis, Synodality and Ecclesia semper reformanda

Synodality has an indispensable place in the history of the church. Pope Francis remains faithful to this tradition and considers synodality to be central to the church's renewal. The next ordinary assembly of the Synod of Bishops, which the pope called to take place in October 2023, will take up the theme of synodality. This conference is an opportunity for a scholarly discussion of synodality and its role in ecclesiology, especially in terms of preserving the ancient notion of Ecclesia semper reformanda, for only that which renews itself continues to live.
