Buddy Programme

We offer a Buddy Programme primarily designed for international students coming to study at our university. Through this programme, local students help newcomers navigate academic life and everyday challenges, while improving their language skills, making new friends, and gaining unique experiences.

Although most buddies are Slovak students, international students are also welcome to become buddies if they wish to support their peers.

As a buddy, you also represent the university and help share information about international mobility opportunities.

Intercultural Communication

Developing intercultural competencies is essential for anyone involved in an international environment. At our university, we recognize that effective communication across cultures is a key bridge that connects people from diverse backgrounds.

For international students and staff, as well as our local community, we offer:

Courses and workshops on intercultural communication
Practical guidance on understanding different cultures
Tips for managing misunderstandings and cultural differences
Stories and experiences shared by students and staff from various countries

We also provide introductory training sessions designed to support both international and local students and employees, helping everyone to thrive in our multicultural academic community.

As an international student or staff member, you can also share your culture and experiences by giving a short presentation about your country, joining an interview with us, or collaborating on other initiatives.
