    Intercultural Communication

Fostering understanding, respect, and cultural sensitivity

At a modern university, students, faculty, and staff come from diverse cultural, linguistic, and social backgrounds. Therefore, the ability to communicate effectively in intercultural situations is essential not only for the smooth functioning of academic life but also for building respect, trust, and mutual understanding.

    Intercultural Communication Courses for Staff

As part of the Intercultural Development project at our university, we have launched a series of intercultural communication courses designed for all staff—both academic and non-academic. The goals of these courses are to:

    • Strengthen intercultural competencies in everyday practice,
    • Prepare staff to work effectively with international students, colleagues, and visiting experts,
    • Develop cultural sensitivity, empathy, and effective communication in diverse environments,
    • Prevent misunderstandings arising from cultural differences.

    Market of Cultures

    Interculturality in Practice

Intercultural communication is not just a theoretical skill — at our university, we actively live and support it through shared experiences. One of these is the Market of Cultures, an annual event where our international students present their countries, traditions, languages, and cuisines to the entire university community.

This event creates a space for dialogue, cultural exchange, openness, and respect. It is through informal meetings and sharing personal stories that genuine understanding is born — the foundation of all intercultural communication.
