Temporary Residence for Other Third-Country Applicants

Third-country nationals (non-EU/EEA) who wish to study in Slovakia must apply for temporary residence for the purpose of study.

Temporary residence allows a third-country national to stay, exit, and re-enter Slovakia for the period granted by the relevant police authority. The residence is tied to a specific purpose, which the foreign national carries out in Slovakia. The police may grant temporary residence for the time necessary to achieve the declared purpose.

A detailed overview of the requirements for applying for temporary residence and the obligations of foreigners after its granting can be found here.

Where to submit the application and required documents:

After collecting all required documents, applicants must book an appointment at the Alien Police Department via the reservation system.

The system generates a completed PDF application form after filling in all applicant information. The applicant must print this form and submit it in person along with the required documents at the Alien Police Department on the reserved date and time.
