
Who can apply
- Students (Master’s level, or at least 2.5 years of studies completed) accepted for a study mobility in Slovakia.
- PhD students, researchers, teachers, artists invited by a Slovak institution.
Duration
- Students: 1–2 semesters (4–10 months) or 1–3 trimesters.
- PhD students / researchers / teachers / artists: 1–10 months.
Deadlines
• 30 April – for the next academic year
• 31 October – for the summer semester or part of the academic year.
How To Apply - Students
1. Prepare the following documents:

CV

Motivation letter
- Scan of your passport

Two recommendation letters from your professors, on official letterhead and signed

Study plan – please complete the template provided below. The study plan should include the courses you plan to take at the host university. The total number of credits must reach 30.

Confirmation from your home university that you are a registered student

Language proficiency certificate – the certificate must not be older than 2 years and must be either a Cambridge certificate or IELTS.
2. Once you have prepared all required documents, please compress them into a ZIP file, name the file by your name and send them by email to izabela.novakova@ku.sk
3. After reviewing your documents, we will prepare an Acceptance Letter for you, which you will need for your National Scholarship Programme (NSP) application.
4. Once you receive the Acceptance Letter, register and submit your NSP application online at scholarship.sk.
5. Wait for the evaluation results, which will be published HERE.

Define the purpose of your stay – research, lectures, or collaboration.

Contact the host institution abroad to agree on the terms of your visit or collaboration. You will need an Invitation Letter from them explaining why your visit is beneficial for both parties, signed and officially stamped.

Tips for Preparing Your Application

A strong motivation letter is essential. Emphasize the benefits for your education, research, and personal development.

All documents must be in the required language, usually English.

Documents should be no older than 3 months.

The Acceptance Letter must follow the exact required format, including signature and official stamp.

Pay attention to formal errors – incomplete applications will be rejected.

Check your health insurance coverage for the entire duration of your stay in advance.

Avoid using AI tools when preparing documents; your CV and motivation letter should be authentic and personal.
