    Market of Cultures 2025

A Celebration of Cultures and Community

Culture is the heart of a community, and sharing it brings us closer together.

The second edition of the Market of Cultures at our university was an inspiring celebration of diversity, connection, and cultural exchange. This year, 18 countries were represented by our international students, who shared their unique traditions through food, music, traditional clothing, and other cultural practices. The event transformed our campus into a vibrant, global village, offering a truly immersive experience for everyone involved.

    Learning Through Experience

The Market of Cultures offered students and staff a unique opportunity to explore a variety of cultures right here on our university campus. Participants were able to taste traditional foods, enjoy authentic musical performances, learn about traditional clothing, and hear personal stories from students representing 18 countries. These direct experiences provided a much deeper understanding of cultural customs and values, creating space for mutual understanding and inspiration.

    Charity Punch

The event also featured a charity punch, with all proceeds going to support a good cause. This activity fostered a sense of belonging and solidarity among all participants, demonstrating that celebrating culture can also have a tangible positive impact on the community.

    Building Connections and Supporting Community

Our buddy students proudly represented the Slovak booth and actively helped organize the event. Together with international students, they created a welcoming space where people could meet, share their traditions, and build new friendships. The Market of Cultures showed that intercultural collaboration and mutual support can lead to meaningful connections that last well beyond the event itself.

More Than an Event – A Platform for Dialogue

The Market of Cultures is more than just a celebration — it is a platform for dialogue, mutual understanding, and appreciation of diversity. By coming together, sharing, and learning from one another, students demonstrate the values of inclusivity, collaboration, and curiosity that define our university. The event reminds us that education is not only about knowledge, but also about connections, respect, and shared experiences.
