Internation congress and simulation excercice interconect the science, technology, specialists and rescue teams

Faculty of Health Care, Catholic University in Ružomberok is preparing an international activity VECTOR Congress 2027 which will be associated with simulation exercise Campus Shield 2027 involving participation of multiple rescue system components.

A two-day activity will create an opportunity for discussions, exchange of experience, presentation of scientific knowledge and practical assessment of the rescue teams work. It will interconnect emergency medicine, disaster medicine, crisis management, situations with HAZMAT and CRBN use, law enforcement, simulation education and modern technologies.

VECTOR Congress 2027 – International Congress on Emergency Response, Disaster and Emergency Medicine, HAZMAT, CBRN, Simulation and Future Technologies – will serve as a common meeting space for specialists from academic institutions, emergency medicine practitioners, paramedics, rescue and law enforcement institutions, military forces, crisis management personel, scientific institutions and technological companies.

The congress has an ambition to interconnect scientific knowledge with the real practical needs, to support interdisciplinary and international cooperation and to create an open space for discussion about the future of emergency medical care, safety and crisis responsiveness.

CAMPUS SHIELD 2027

The congress program will be followed by an interdisciplinary simulation exercise Campus Shield 2027

The exercise topic will by a complex hazardous accident associated with radioactive material, endangered persons and need for a coordinated action of various rescue system specialities. Dynamic scenario will assess the ability to respond to the situation with overlapping safety, medical, radiation, evacuation, decontamination a psychosocial aspects.

The exercise will be focused mainly on:

• Management and coordination of the activity
• Communication and cooperation of involving teams
• Protection and rescue of endengered persons
• Triage, treatment and transport of patients
• Evacuation and decontamination
• Activity with suspected radioactive material involvement
• Protection of rescue system personel
• Sequence o safety, medical and crisis interventions
• Psychosocial and crisis intervention
• Activity analysis and identification of areas of possible improvements

Campus Shield  2027 will not only be a presentation of particular activities. Its main purpose will be a practical evaluation of interdisciplinary cooperation, decision making processes and ability to respond  to a complex event in a real university enviroment.

Who are the target participants?

VECTOR Congress 2027  is designed for a broad spectrum of professionals, specialists and anybody interested in emergency medicine, disaster medicine, crisis management, safety, HAYMAT/CRBN and modern technologies used in management of extraordinary situations. It is aiming on physicians, paramedics and other health care personel, members of rescue system institutions, protective and military services, crisis management companies, HAYMAT/CRBN institutions, representatives of academic and research areas, students, civil organizations participating in rescue system and for anybody, who is interested in management of extraordinary events and complex threats of the 21st century.

Campus Shield 2027 is directed only to rescue system units and designated observers because of the specific, complex and challenging aspects of the excercice.

The event will create a space for establishing new professional contacts, presentating experience and innovations, exchanging examples of good practice, and developing cooperation between the academic community and organizations responsible for protecting life, health, and safety.
