International Students

The Faculty of Arts and Letters of the Catholic University in Ruzomberok welcomes students from any country of the world. The faculty offers a distinctive combination of academic rigour, homely atmosphere, spiritual growth and friendly approach. In general, there are three options open for international students.
1) Exchange programmes
International students studying at a higher education institution abroad may spend part of their studies at our faculty thanks to one of the student exchange programmes. Probably the most popular is the Erasmus+ programme for those studying at another higher education institution in Europe. If you are interested in an exchange programme, please, see the list of our partner universities and inquire about your options at your institution or contact our university international office. 2) Regular studies
International students are welcome to apply as regular students and choose one of our BA, MA or PhD study programmes. Citizens of the EU countries or countries with special bilateral agreements (e.g., Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova etc.) are generally exempt from tuition fees. Students from other countries are required to pay annual tuition fees (850,- EUR for the academic year 2022/2023).
3) Intensive Slovak language course
The faculty offers Intensive Slovak Language Course for those international students who want to learn Slovak language to be able to study further as regular students enrolled at study programmes offered in Slovak. It is also recommended for any international students who want to study in Slovakia, even if their study programmes are offered in English or German. Upon the completion of the course students will receive a certificate.
The course is to be organized at the Faculty of Arts and Letters, Catholic University in Ruzomberok from April to June. Tuition fee (non-refundable) for this three-month course is 1.000 EUR. Classes are taught using individual approach and depending on the number of students the course usually consists of 20 lessons per week. Applicants need to submit a scan of a signed application form with all the attachments to admissions.ff@ku.sk.
