CUP 2024 in Zagreb also with the participation of our students and faculty
As the name of the conference implies, its goal was to evaluate 20 years of activity of the CUP (Catholic Universities Partnership) and to present visions and possibilities for further cooperation, especially for the generous support of the Nanovic Institute for European Studies (University of Notre Dame).
The conference was divided into several blocks that addressed the challenges of Central and Eastern Europe from the perspective of universities, evaluation of 20 years of CUP, opportunities for cooperation (presentation of best practices and potentials), crisis management and pastoral care in CUP institutions. Catholic University in Ružomberok represented in this block doc. PhDr. Markéta Rusnáková, PhD., vice-rector for international relations.
The conference also included presentations about CUP from the students' perspective. In addition to students from Croatia, Georgia, Ukraine, Hungary and Poland, students from Catholic Universizty in Ružomberok also had the opportunity to represent: Bc. Matej Molčányi (Faculty of Arts and Letters), Mgr. Lenka Horváthová (Faculty of Education) and PaedDr. Martin Pinkoš (Faculty of Theology).
In the discussion about the future of cooperation within the CUP, Mgr. Samuel Štefan Mahút, PhD., the dean of the Faculty of Arts and Letters presented his contribution.
The conference was attended by more than 30 participants from the Catholic University of Croatia (Croatia), Pázmany Péter Catholic University (Hungary), Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University (Georgia), The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Poland), Ukrainian Catholic University (Ukraine), Catholic University in Ružomberok and University of Notre Dame (USA). Another of the series of CUP conferences will take place in Poland, at The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin.
