Our Philosophers at a Philosophy of History Conference

On March 7 and 8, 2024, colleagues from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań held a conference entitled "Analytical Philosophy of History and the Challenges of the Future". The event featured a keynote lecture by Paul Roth from the University of California - Santa Cruz, whose work on irrealism has been hotly debated in recent years. Other philosophers and theoreticians of history from Poland, Finland and the Czech Republic also presented their contributions at the conference. Slovakia was represented by Juraj Šuch and Eugen Zeleňák from our philosophy department, who lectured on pluralism and current discussions in the philosophy of history.

The conference was a follow-up of a similar event that Ewa Domańska and Krzysztof Brzechczyn had organized in Poznań in 2015. In 2015, the contributions were about the revival of the analytical philosophy of history, in 2024, the focus was on the current challenges and future of analytical philosophy of history.
