    Professional characteristics

My name is Mgr. Natália Kubašová, PhD., and  I work as an assistant professor at the Department of Slovak Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts, Catholic University in Ružomberok. I specialise in teaching the Slovak language and literature, as well as language education methodology. I completed my university studies at the Catholic University in Ružomberok, where I earned degrees in teaching Slovak and English and in literature. I obtained my PhD in language didactics from Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra.

I have gained teaching experience both in Slovakia and abroad – working as an English–language lecturer in Poland and at private language schools. I taught and gained experience at primary and secondary schools, too. I currently still work as a language lecturer in the Helen Doron network, which offers an innovative approach to early language learning.

At the university, I teach courses such as Older Slovak Literature, Children's and Youth Literature, and Teaching Practice. My academic focus is on online testing, formative assessment, and teaching strategies in multilingual education. I have published several academic papers focused on foreign language teaching and didactics. I actively participated in international projects such as TRIP and the Virtual Environmental Challenge, which support innovative and internationally oriented education. Most recently, I became a member of a COST Action – a European framework supporting transnational cooperation among researchers, innovators, and professionals across Europe. My teaching and research activities aimed to improve language education and support teachers' professional development.
