The Department of Physical Education and Sports at the Faculty of Education of the Catholic University in Ružomberok is part of the V4 Visegrad Fund grant project called GreenPE. As part of their personal development in terms of sustainability of personal and environmental health, students were offered a three-month intervention exercise program lasting 90 minutes, a home exercise program conducted twice a week for six weeks, and a theoretical online lecture to enhance their overall health and lifestyle during their university studies.

At the same time as in Slovakia, the GreenPE project’s exercise intervention was carried out in other V4 countries—Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland—demonstrating efforts to integrate sustainability into physical education at the academic level.
The university environment of the Catholic University in Ružomberok, located in the Liptov region with the scenic backdrop of the Tatra Mountains, provided students with high-quality environmental conditions to support their health and its sustainability. Student participation was voluntary and motivated by sustainability, environmental awareness, and health promotion.

Likewise, the Catholic University in Ružomberok, as one of the key partners of the project, contributed to the initiative promoting sustainable physical education across Central Europe. This highlights the possibilities of conducting physical activities directly in outdoor environments, supporting health-oriented fitness and the overall immune system as significant factors in health.
