CU student numbers continue to rise in new academic year
During the current academic year 2025/2026, 3,747 students will study at the Catholic University of Ružomberok. The largest number will be at the Faculty of Education (1,725 students), followed by the Faculty of Health Sciences (965), the Faculty of Theology (642) and the Arts and Letters (415). KU student numbers are rising for the third year in a row. The university last had more students in the academic year 2016/2017.
"The university is an ecosystem of internal and external relationships, and I am pleased that we are succeeding in developing them. I believe that the new year will be successful for us, that we will further contribute to the development of education, and that our young friends will feel good here - like at home," said the rector of the only Catholic university in Slovakia, ecologist and environmental expert, Associate Professor Jaroslav Demko.
The new academic year will also bring several new features. Students of the Faculty of Health Sciences will witness the construction of the Skill Care simulation center, for which CU received 10 million euros. Students of the Faculty of Philosophy will move into renovated premises, which underwent modernization in 2025 with the aim of saving energy. The CU Counseling Center, library and other parts of the university are also undergoing changes.
