The Faculty of Arts and Letters has received two new doctoral positions due to excellent results
The Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic supported excellent research institutes of public universities based on their results in the VER 2022 creative activity assessment with an additional subsidy for scholarships for doctoral students for 2025. The total amount of the subsidy for 2025 is more than 2.6 million euros, and 50 doctoral places in the internal form of study in the Slovak Republic will be financed. The distribution of the subsidy is directly linked to the quality of research expressed by a point rating, which was created by combining the percentage of outputs classified into individual quality categories (world, significant international, international, national) and their respective weights.
We are pleased to announce that the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the Catholic University in Ružomberok, thanks to its excellent results in the VER 2022 assessment, succeeded in this challenge and received a grant for two new doctoral positions. This support was allocated specifically for the study fields of Philology and Historical Sciences, in which the faculty demonstrated a high level of research activity. This is a significant recognition of the quality of the faculty's scientific work, which has thus ranked among the most successful workplaces in the given fields on a national scale.
This success is not only the result of the long-term and systematic work of scientific and pedagogical staff, but also a confirmation of the faculty's strategic direction towards research excellence. We believe that the support for new doctoral positions will contribute to the further development of the faculty's scientific potential and to the improvement of doctoral studies at the Catholic University in Ružomberok.
