Professional characteristics

Assoc. prof. RNDr. Miroslav Rusko, PhD. (1953) – studied biology, then postgraduate studies in environmental protection and passed a rigorous exam in the field of natural environment protection at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava. He successfully graduated the third degree with a degree in "Environmental Studies" in 2006 at the Technical University of Košice, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Košice. He completed the habilitation procedure in 2013 at the Slovak University of Technology in the field of  "Safety and Health Protection at Work".

Since 1979, he has worked in the field of environmental protection in the glass industry at the General Directorate of VHJ Tatrasklo. After 1990, he gradually held the position of Head of the District Office of the Environment in Trnava, Director of the Slovak Environment Agency, o.p. Trnava, Center for Environmental Assessment and Labeling of Products and Technologies, Center for Environmental Management and Director of the Horizontal Assistance Section of the State Aid Office in Bratislava.

He has been dealing with the issue of environmental and safety management for a long time. In this area, he worked in several advisory bodies, professional organizations and the performance of state administration in the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic. Since 1998 he is a member of the technical standardization commission TNK 72-Environmental Management - Slovak Institute of Technical Standardization

He worked externally as a university teacher at the Faculty of Education of Trnava University, the Faculty of Materials Technology and the Faculty of Professional Studies of the Slovak University of Technology, the Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Studies of the Technical University of Zvolen, the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, the Central European University in Skalica, the Faculty of Management of Comenius University in Bratislava and the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava.

Between the years 2001-2021 he has worked internally as a university teacher at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Faculty of Materials Technology in Trnava.

Since 2022 he is working as a university teacher at the Catholic University in Ružomberok

He deals mainly with issues of safety and environmental management, state aid, the area of integrated management system, implementation of voluntary tools of environmental management.

He participates on the creation of study literature for study subjects in the field of environmental and safety management. He has led several theses for ŠVOČ, more than 60 bachelor's and 120 diploma, rigorous and dissertation theses successfully defended. He is a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals and a member of the scientific councils of several scientific conferences. He is the organizer of several scientific conferences and more than 130 seminars. He is the author of more than 500 professional and scientific articles, monographs and other  publications.
