17th World Leisure Congress at the University of Otago
The 17th World Leisure Congress was held from 11. 12. – to 15. 12. 2023 in Dunedin, New Zealand at the University of Otago, Department of Tourism. The World Leisure Congress welcomed delegates, members, and participants from around the world, from academic and governmental institutions, as well as leisure supporters. The themes that ran throughout the congress focused on leisure and its various forms, whether traditional or modern in the interface of academic theory and industrial practice contributing to the well-being of people at the regional and international level.
At the congress, Prof. Dr. Ricardo Ricci Uvinha was awarded the George Torkildsen Literary Award for his work and for contribution to World Leisure Organization. Support for the congress was also enjoyed by members of the World Leisure Journal (Taylor & Francis), whose Editor-in-Chief is Professor Sandro Carnicelli.
