The project involves field research in Partizánska Ľupča through a research team under your leadership. The local research teams will work with research questions on five main issues: (1) the history and profile of the village; (2) the village’s resilience in adapting to changing circumstances; (3) the culture of remembering in the village and of the villagers; (4) the villagers’ hopes for and sense of the future; and (5) the villagers’ self-understanding and sense of identity and belonging. We have been in touch about the timeline, the methodology, and the research activities (25 interviews with important stakeholders of the village, one focus group discussion with villagers, research on the available sources about the history and profile of the village including literature review, village sources, and media analysis, photographic documentation of the village). We will collaborate on a report, an academic publication, and a document for the partners in Slovakia.
