On 19-20 June 2025, the Department of English Language and Literature (KAJL) are organising an international linguistics conference called the Government Phonology Round Table (GPRT).

The GPRT originally started out in 1997 as a bilateral forum for discussion between Government Phonologists in Vienna and Budapest. Then in the years 2002–2004, it developed into a regular gathering characterised by a relaxed atmosphere, attracting experts from more and more countries in Europe and beyond, and has since been organised by the local teams of Vienna, Budapest, Nova Gorica, Piliscsaba, Ljubljana. This year, we are adding Ružomberok to the list of GPRT venues.
