Project of the Department approved by the International Visegrad Fund

A cooperation of the Catholic University in Ružomberok, Pázmány Péter Catholic University and Masaryk University

Our project "Crossing borders between countries, scholars, and genres: Commemorating the late Kathleen E. Dubs" has been approved by the International Visegrad Fund.

Kathleen E. Dubs (1944–2011) was a university professor, mediaevalist and literary historian. She was born an American, but after the first half of her academic career she moved to Eger, Hungary, and worked at PPCU Piliscsaba/Budapest and KU Ružomberok until her death in 2011. Our year 2024 marks her 80th birthday anniversary. Our project titled 'Crossing borders between countries, scholars, and genres' aims to pay tribute to Dr. Dubs’ achievements and exceptional personality, and promote her figure as one whose academic activity crossed borders in several senses of the word.

Within the frame of the project, the Catholic University in Ružomberok, in cooperation with Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Budapest and Masaryk University, Brno, is organising two one-day commemorative academic events. Please find attached the poster of the first one, to be held on 4 November in Ružomberok; the other event is on 29 November in Budapest.

The language of the events is English.

The project is supported by the Visegrad Fund's grant #22420198.
