    Abstract: Stone plastic elements and sculptures are a frequent part of historic facades. The degree of their mechanical disturbance is often significant, the original forms and details are destroyed. In the process of their restoration are consolidation and conservation a first step. However, the main issues are related to the reconstruction of their original expression. In this context, basic methodological issues need to be addressed, which are an important part of the restorer's education. The article deals with three examples of sculptures connected with architecture, that were restored in the Academy of fine arts and design in Bratislava. Each of them represented a different degree of use of reconstruction methods.
