    Abstract: The paper analyses the possibilities of art education as a subject within primary education. The analysis focuses on the current situation in art education and the possibilities the subject offers in the context of different topics and content constructs. In the second part, we focus on the analysis of research probes that present the views of students and adult respondents on art education as a subject in primary school. The analysis provides new findings and a relatively broad opinion platform that can represent the actual situation in educational practice in art education in primary school.
