Abstract: Acute myeloblastic leukemia is a clinically heterogeneous neoplastic disease of hematopoiesis characterized by the accumulation of immature elements (blasts) of the myeloid lineage in the bone marrow, which ultimately leads to failure of hematopoiesis - cessation of differentiation and unregulated proliferation. The disease most often occurs in the adult population, the incidence increases with age. The course is serious - the mortality rate is the highest of all leukemias. The etiology of the disease is unknown, a significant share of mutations and a share of environmental exposure are assumed. it occurs secondary after previous cytostatic treatment or radiotherapy. Symptoms are caused by a reduced number of cells - cytopenia and include bleeding, infections and anemic symptomatology. The prognosis of the disease is unfavorable, especially in elderly patients over 60 years of age, and only early establishment of a complex diagnosis (morphology, histology, cytogenetics, molecular and immunophenotypic examination) and initiation of treatment are a condition for any success due to the potential for rapid development of complications. However, the treatment quickly fails due to resistance, which creates the necessity to search for new methods of medication.
