Abstrakt/ Abstract: The article deals with the topic of literacy and visual literacy in the context of theoretical anchoring and characteristics. We adhere to generally accepted definitions of literacy and further develop our theory at the level of visual literacy as a new, contemporary concept of visual arts education at the present times.
