Abstrakt/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present general standards, guidelines, and recommendations for diagnostic procedures in the assessment of children and adolescents with special developmental and educational needs. The purpose of diagnosing developmental and educational needs is to reveal positive psychological resources and sources of energy and motivation for learning. Therefore, it is necessary to seek methodological solutions that allow for a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to the existing developmental potential of each child and to determine the conditions for its activation, indicating possibilities for therapy, psychological support, improvement, compensation, correction, and social support, i.e., broadly understood support for education and integral personal development.
