Abstract: The text deals with the essential phenomena of art, the relationship between traditionalism and modernity. Also the sinusoid of painting, its "falls" and "reincarnations". Their spiritual values. This phenomenon, especially in the European space, is reflected through the prism of important names of philosophy and history of art.
