Abstrakt/ Abstract: The paper points out the validity and role of the social worker when working with a client suffering from anxiety and depression caused by alcohol, focusing on the possibilities of providing psychosocial therapy in order to improve the client's health and prevent relapse. In the framework of the issue, in the introduction we pay attention to the definition of health and disease, on the basis of which we follow up on alcoholism, depression and anxiety and their mutual connection. On a theoretical level, we continue to engage in social work with alcoholics. In the methodological part, we present the research objective and research questions, characteristics of the researched group, data collection and analysis methods and their use in the work. In the results of our own work, we present a generalized profile of a client with anxiety and depression caused by alcohol use and the results of qualitative research that deals with psychosocial treatment procedures for the treatment of addictions. In the discussion, we discuss the possibilities of psychosocial treatment procedures for improving the health of clients, not only from the point of view of their addictions, but also from the point of view of improving their psychological and social state. At the end of the discussion, we present suggestions applicable in social practice, but also in further research.
