Abstrakt/Abstract: We are currently witnessing a period where technological advancement is bringing about revolutionary changes and new approaches in the field of forensic research. This article focuses on a new era in the examination of volumetric trasological traces utilizing a handheld 3D scanner directly at the crime scene. This method provides incredible precision and details previously unattainable. Combined with 3D printing technology, we are able to create a perfect physical reproduction of the trace with all its characteristics, opening up new possibilities in legal proceedings and investigations. Additionally, this article also aims to describe the method and its potential advantages and challenges. We find that this innovative practice brings new tools and approaches that fundamentally change the way trace evidence examination and evaluation are conducted. Furthermore, in times of rapid technological evolution, it is essential to continually adapt to the new challenges and opportunities these new tools provide. Our goal is to present a detailed overview of the implementation of this innovative method in practice and evaluate its potential in the field of forensic research.
