    Abstract: The paper focuses on the position and role of the teacher's assistant in the educational process. Education requirements for the performance of teaching assistant position and their justification for the nature of performed work and benefits of the teacher's assistant for the learner if they come from the same ethnic background are analysed. The focus will be paid on actual numbers of teaching assistants, and if this number corresponds to the requirements of current practice.
