Abstrakt/Abstract: Nowadays, there is an ever-increasing emphasis on the development of basic movement competences in children and young people. These competencies are crucial for a healthy lifestyle and the overall physical development of the individual. This study focuses on a review of selected research and scientific studies related to the assessment of basic movement competencies, with an emphasis on the MOBAK-KG methodology as a method of assessing movement competencies developed on the basis of empirical data and scientific knowledge. It analyses the relevance and applicability of this method in the context of the development of movement competences in children and youth. Discusses the benefits and limitations of using MOBAK-KG and provides recommendations for further research and implementation of this method in educational practice. It concludes with perspectives for the development and application of assessment of basic movement competencies in the context of health promotion and overall individual development in today's society.
