Abstrakt/ Abstract: The aim of the paper is to point out the compositional qualities of the composer and conductor Tomáš Vrškový, by means of an analysis of his composition Katarínska veselica, to highlight his work and the form of processing the folk songs used in the given composition, and to present the given composition to a wider public. The composition, as the title implies, thematically focuses on the period associated with St. Catherine's celebrations, which also implies the selection of folk songs contained in the given composition, while within the contribution we analyze the differences in processing and the way of incorporating these songs into the given composition, where each song it brings new, fresh elements and elevates the song to a higher level.
