Abstrakt/ Abstract: Sacral architecture is an important part of the world cultural heritage. It forms our space, and it is a signal sign for all the spiritual statement of a specific religious community. Its material substance is often object of various interventions. But at present it brings new questions. From the middle of the 20th century till today it brings new perspectives. This is caused both by change in the architectural method, new material and technological possibilities and also by changes resulting in cause of the Catholic churches from the II. Vatican Council. This article deals with causes that influence interventions in christian sacral architecture in the modern situation.
