Abstrakt/ Abstract: The paper deals with the possibilities of developing digital competencies of students in distance education. We specifically address the issues of digital literacy of students in the information society and the possibilities of its transformation. We present the use of digital technologies (e-learning) as a dynamic process of a changing set of interconnected interacting activities. The whole topic is perceived in the context of the European environment, which affects education in Slovakia.
