Abstract: The aim of the study is to verify the psychometric properties of the Communal Narcissism Inventory (CNI). The inventory consists of sixteen items and was administered to students (N = 946) aged between 14 and 21 years. Of the total number of respondents, 74,0% were women. In order to verify the inventory, a CFA confirmatory factor analysis was used, using the DWLS method, with assessment of fit indices. The reliability of the inventory was verified using Cronbach's α and McDonald's ω coefficients. Based on statistical analyses, it was found that the data adequately fit the model, and the results confirmed the two-factor structure of the Slovak version of the inventory, χ2 (103) = 457,204; p < 0,001; RMSEA = 0,060 (90% CI 0,055–0,066); CFI = 0,977 and TLI = 0,974. Results shows that factor structure, factor loadings, means, specific and error variance (residuals) of items are equivalent for men and women, based on measurement of invariance. The reliability of the inventory was high for each of the subsacles: Focus on the present: α = 0,853, ω = 0,856; Focus on the past: α = 0,884, ω = 0,885. Based on the results, it was found that the Slovak version of the CNI inventory represents a reliable screening inventory.
