Abstrakt/ Abstract: Family resilience is an important topic in special education, as coping with a stressful situation such as the birth of a child with a disability can be extremely challenging for parents and the extended family. This paper focuses on the processes of family resilience in such situations and presents selected coping strategies as well as options for external support that can help the family adapt to the new realities of life.
