Abstrakt/ Abstract: This article aims to contribute to the rediscovery of an important Italian dialect poet Antonio Pitoni in the context of 20th century Marsican literature. Through his work, Pitoni embodies the figure of the self-taught poet who discovers and is amazed by the beauty of the world and who, despite life's difficulties, always manages to maintain a positive outlook on the world. His work is important and worth remembering also because he contributed to the renewal of the Avezzano dialect in the years when, the dialect was in danger of being completely forgotten.
