Abstrakt/ Abstract: John Locke is one of the most important classics of world pedagogy. His views, set forth in his book Thoughts on Education, strongly influenced the development of educational ideas in other countries, including Poland. This article explores the fundamental issues surrounding Polish interest in Locke's pedagogy from the Enlightenment to the present day. Attention is drawn to, among other things, Polish translations of Thoughts on Education and the content of textbooks on the history of education. Articles published in journals also played a significant role in popularizing knowledge of Locke's pedagogical thought. Various Polish authors, including seasoned experts in the history of education, commented on the English pedagogue's educational concepts. Most of them highly valued Locke's pedagogical views, seeing them as original educational theses.
