Abstrakt/ Abstract: The paper focuses on the analysis of self-care from the perspective of behavioral and ecological theory, linking theoretical foundations with findings from a recent survey conducted among university students. The starting point is the understanding of self-care as a dynamic process that includes conscious individual behavior aimed at maintaining physical, psychological, and academic well-being. The behavioral approach explains self-care as a set of learned habits shaped by stimuli and consequences within the social environment. The ecological theory highlights the importance of interactions between the individual and various environmental levels that influence both the opportunities and barriers to practicing self-care. The research part of the paper is based on a questionnaire survey among social work students and students of related fields. The aim was to identify differences in physical, psychological, and academic self-care with respect to the respondents’ gender.manner.
