Abstrakt/ Abstract: The aim of this work is to show the life of the Franciscans in the second half of the twentieth century. In the first part of the work, we will focus on the intervention of the communist regime as part of “Action K (monasteries)” in the microregion of the Banská Bystrica. We show how the intervention against the religious took place in this region in 1950 and how it directly affected the Franciscans in the given territory. In the second part of the work is information aboud monastery in Hroňský Beňadik (Svätý Beňadik) became a centralizing monastery for Franciscans from all over Slovakia. The concentration of the religious was preceded by defamation, a trial, a campaign against the religious, and discrimination against the religious. It was preceded by long-term preparation, and not only at the level of state church authorities. The decisive role was played by the security forces, who became the executors of the actions. A new, tougher variant was used, in a similar spirit as the actions in the USSR. The state power was determined to do everything. The population was weakened by mistrust and fear, and this fear opened the way for some to resign and cooperate with the totalitarian power. However, many survived this struggle and became an example for others.
