    Abstrakt/ Abstract: The paper explores the process and integration of game design in education through a visual communication course designed for prospective art educators. Teachers find themselves in the role of creators of their own didactic tools and worksheets in the nowadays-preferred project-based learning, where the quality of visual design is playing a key role for a successful gamification process in teaching. The article summarizes the theoretical background of the topic and reflects on the process of game creation and design by art education students in a visual communication course. It includes a questionnaire that analyses students' views for their integration into their future teaching practice.
