Abstrakt/ Abstract: The thesis focuses on issues of digital dementia in context of social development of students. The negative impact of excessive use of digital technologies on cognitive and social skills of individuals, also known as digital dementia is becoming more up-to-date theme in modern education environment. At the same time, the thesis examines the way excessive use of technologies influences emotional intelligence, social skills, and ability of students to effectively interact. Particular attention is payed to strategies for lessening negative impact of digital dementia through digital literacy support, critical thinking development and strengthening of interpersonal relationships in school environment. The goal of the thesis is to identify possibilities of how to efficiently incorporate digital technologies into education process without disturbing social development of students.
