Abstrakt/ Abstract: Digitalization is permeating all areas of social life and is fundamentally transforming the way social work is carried out. The emergence of digital technologies – from online communication and electronic record systems to artificial intelligence – brings new opportunities for more effective delivery of social services, improves access to assistance, and creates space for innovative forms of intervention. At the same time, it raises numerous challenges related to data protection, ethics in client work, and the digital exclusion of vulnerable groups.
The aim of this article is to analyze the impact of digitalization on the practice of social work, to identify its benefits and risks, and to highlight the need for the development of digital competencies among social workers. The research is based on the analysis of professional sources, documents, and case studies. The findings suggest that the successful integration of digital technologies into social work requires not only technical but also ethical, legal, and educational innovations.
