    Abstrakt/ Abstract: This article provides an analysis and interpretation of the development of the Roman Catholic Girls' Folk and Civic School in Ružomberok during the period 1885 to 1919. It primarily focuses on the pedagogical and organizational activities of the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent – the Satmar Sisters, who administered the school. The institution's operation is placed within the broader context of Hungarian centralist school policy, which was strongly influenced by Magyarization efforts, particularly after the adoption of the Apponyi school laws. The work is based on the exegesis of primary historical sources, predominantly school annual reports. A key moment was the establishment of the sisters in 1885, who, under the leadership of Sister Klára Bota, created a stable and high-quality educational centre. The content of the instruction was focused on religious education, with the aim of forming a conscious Christian and citizen. At the same time, however, emphasis was placed on the development of practical and artistic skills, which was ensured by qualified teaching nuns and lay educators. The continuity and high standard of the school persisted even in the demanding conditions of the First World War. As a result of these factors, the girls' school earned the status of a significant regional educational centre.
