Abstrakt/ Abstract: Proprioception is a fundamental sensory modality essential for motor planning, movement coordination, and the regulation of postural stability. In children with dyspraxia, commonly conceptualized within the framework of sensory-based motor disorders, proprioceptive processing is frequently impaired. These impairments may manifest as difficulties in fine and gross motor performance, motor planning, coordination, and in the adaptive modulation of movement in response to environmental demands. The theoretical part of this paper focuses on the definition of proprioception, its neurophysiological foundations, and its role in motor development, as well as on the characterization of dyspraxia within the context of sensory integration difficulties. Particular attention is given to the relationship between proprioceptive processing and the execution of goal-directed and coordinated motor activities. The theoretical framework is illustratively supported by a case study of a child with dyspraxia, which highlights manifestations of limited proprioceptive processing in everyday activities and functional motor tasks. The case study serves as an illustrative complement linking theoretical concepts with clinical practice and emphasizes the relevance of proprioceptive functioning in therapeutic and educational intervention planning.
