Abstrakt/ Abstract: Surrogacy, as one of the alternatives for addressing infertility, represents a fundamental challenge for bioethics and moral theology, particularly with regard to the dignity of the child. This article focuses on the theological reflection on surrogacy in the context of John Paul II’s theology of the body, which emphasizes the inseparable connection between the marital act, procreation, and the dignity of the person. Drawing on the teaching on spousal love and its orientation toward procreation, the theology of the body demonstrates that separating procreation from the marital act weakens not only the integrity of marital love but also endangers the understanding of the child as both a gift and a person. The analysis therefore reveals that the practice of surrogacy is not merely a technical or ethical issue, but one that touches upon the very dignity of the child and his or her place within interpersonal and family relationships.
