Abstrakt/ Abstract: Modern information and communication technologies (ICT) are a natural part of life in developed countries. If their users do not observe boundaries, ICT can contribute to the emergence and strengthening of addictive behavior with negative impacts on all health attributes. The main goal of the research was to find out what relationship respondents have with new ICTs, how they use them, what level of risk they pose to them, and how it can be prevented. A quantitative research design was chosen, and an online anonymous electronic questionnaire was used as a research tool. The sample was recruited using the rolling snowball method. The questionnaire was filled out by 224 respondents. Women made up 57% of the sample, men 43%. Respondents spend the most time on social networks, two hours a day, and half have already tried to limit this time. A quarter of those surveyed admitted that they clearly consider ICT to be addictive, almost all of them assess the potential risk as high. The majority of the group uses their mobile phone mainly for communication on social networks and rarely turns it off. School preventive measures are unsystematic, boring for pupils, lack logical continuity and are implemented infrequently.
